DeeTheDoula MHWS LLC has recently joined forces with Elizabeth's House to support moderate to low-income families in stocking items for newborn and infant care necessities.
Your support is appreciated if you or anyone you know can donate diapers, formula/jar foods, and warm winter accessories. My work as a Doula goes FAR beyond supporting families leading up to their birth and postpartum care. My mission is to ensure sustainability for healthy, viable outcomes for our black and brown babies. I'm talking IMPACT! Donations will be on a rolling basis until they tell me to stop 😂.

Ways to Afford a Doula
Black women are three times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than White women. Multiple factors contribute to these disparities, such as variation in quality healthcare, underlying chronic conditions, structural racism, and implicit bias. Social determinants of health prevent many people from racial and ethnic minority groups from having fair opportunities for economic, physical, and emotional health.
Research has shown that women are more likely to have positive birth experiences and outcomes with the support of a Doula. Thanks to companies and organizations such as Dove in providing opportunities for women of color to afford doulas and maternity healthcare coverage. Please look into the Black Birth Equity Fund: Action for Black Maternal Health sponsored by DOVE. If you’re an expectant Black mom or birthing individual, or want to apply for a Black birthing person in your life, apply for a grant here.
